New York Temporary Space Opening
Marking the opening of Opera Gallery’s new temporary exhibition space in New York—located on the vibrant corner of 69th Street and Madison Avenue—we continue to uphold the gallery’s endeavor to bridge the legacies of post-war and modern European masters with the most compelling voices in contemporary art today with our inaugural exhibition.
This exhibition brings together a curated selection of works that celebrate a dialogue across generations—revealing how artistic innovation evolves, while continuing to explore timeless themes of beauty, emotion, and form.
From modern and post-war icons such as Pablo Picasso, Pierre Soulages, Hans Hartung, Bernard Buffet, Karel Appel, and Marc Chagall, to new works by leading and emerging contemporary artists represented by the gallery—including Ron Arad, Manolo Valdés, Andy Denzler, Feng Xiao-Min, Anthony James, John Helton, André Brasilier, Cho Sung-Hee, and Jae Ko—the exhibition invites visitors to experience a vibrant exchange between past and present artistic voices.
Transforming the new space into a site of artistic discovery, this show juxtaposes the weight and stillness of Pablo Atchugarry’s marble sculptures with the shimmering translucency of Ron Arad’s resin forms, while the quiet spirituality of Chu Teh-Chun finds resonance in the chromatic boldness of Cho Sung-Hee. Every piece has been chosen not just for its visual power, but for its contribution to an ongoing artistic conversation.
“With this new address on Madison Avenue, the gallery continues its mission of celebrating the world’s most renowned post-war artists while nurturing the talents of our time,” says Gilles Dyan, founder of Opera Gallery.
The public, collectors, and art lovers alike are invited to experience an exhibition that celebrates the gallery’s diverse roster of artists, spanning from Picasso to contemporary emerging artists—a dialogue that bridges together continents, generations, and artistic movements.
