Ran Hwang at the Asian Civilizations Museum in Singapore

01 June - 23 July 2017

South Korean contemporary artist Ran Hwang goes on show at the Asian Civilizations Museum (ACM) in Singapore, in the contemporary section of the exhibition “Joseon Korea: Court Treasures and City Life”.

Spanning some 500 years, Joseon was Korea’s last dynasty, and the legacy of its courtly culture and vibrant city life lives on in South Korea today. In the ACM exhibition, treasures from the National Museum of Korea, the National Palace Museum of Korea, and the Deagu National Museum go on display for the first time in Singapore.

The exhibition is accompanied by programmes and talks relating to Joseon Korea and contemporary Korean culture; as well as a site-specific large-scale installation by Ran Hwang, famous for her work using pins, buttons, and thread.
