Matisse, The Red Studio, MoMa New York
May - 10 September 2022
Henri Matisse, the Red Studio is an exhibition that will take place between the MoMa in New York and the Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen. The exhibition will focus on the artist's iconic works in their collections from his studio in Issy les Moulineaux, including paintings and sculptures, at both institutions. It will also feature other works in association with those in their collections, with paintings, drawings and a selection of photographs, letters, and documents, shedding light on the history of the eponymous 1911 painting. The exhibition will also explore the importance of subject matter and method in the artist's work. The exhibition will be on view at the MoMa from May 1, 2022. More information here.
