Federica Beretta Appointed Global Gallery Director

11 February 2026

Opera Gallery is pleased to announce the appointment of Federica Beretta as Global Gallery Director, a strategic role in which she will contribute to the expansion of the gallery’s artistic programme through the identification and development of new projects with leading artists and significant estates. Working closely with artists, collectors and institutions, Beretta will support Opera Gallery’s international growth while reinforcing its commitment to ambitious curatorial initiatives across its global network.

Beretta brings extensive experience from the international contemporary art sector. Prior to joining Opera Gallery, she served as Director at Hauser & Wirth Monaco, where she led major projects with internationally acclaimed artists and estates including George Condo, Mark Bradford, John Chamberlain, Barbara Chase-Riboud and Annie Leibovitz, among others. During her time in Monte Carlo, she also developed institutional collaborations with key cultural organisations such as the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, and the Société des Bains de Mer, further strengthening the dialogue between the gallery sector and public institutions.

Her relationship with Opera Gallery is longstanding. Beretta previously directed Opera Gallery’s Bond Street space in London, and before that held leadership roles in Mayfair and Chelsea, where she curated more than 40 exhibitions dedicated to contemporary artists. Alongside her exhibition programme, she also spearheaded major public art projects in collaboration with Westminster City Council, notably in prominent London locations including Berkeley Square, Marble Arch and Bond Street.

Beyond her gallery leadership, Beretta is widely recognised for her contribution to the broader cultural landscape. With a background in journalism, she has written for many years for the Italian art publication Artribune, and is frequently invited to moderate and participate in international conferences and panels on modern and contemporary art.

Beretta’s work has been recognised through multiple awards and honours. In September 2025, she was named among the most influential figures in contemporary art in Italy (Power 100) by Il Giornale dell’Arte. She is also the recipient of the Women of Monaco Club Award (2024), the Premio San Martino (2025), and the Young Talented Italians Award from the Italian Chamber of Commerce in London.

With her international vision, curatorial expertise and deep institutional network, Beretta’s appointment marks an important step for Opera Gallery as it continues to broaden its global programme and reinforce its role as a key platform for leading modern and contemporary artists.
