Pablo Atchugarry, Dancing with Marble
Opera Gallery New York is proud to present, for the first time in our Madison Avenue space, renowned Uruguayan sculptor Pablo Atchugarry.
Atchugarry made his mark as a representative of his country at the 50th Venice Biennale and has now reached international fame and recognition for his spectacular production of monumental sculptures, which can be admired in many public spaces both in Europe and America.
His discovery of marble in 1979 impacted the formation of his artistic career. Inspired by legendary artists such as Michelangelo and by the patterns of Classical, Renaissance and Baroque eras, Atchugarry has developed and expanded his art further into contemporary abstract forms. Thereby it is a great privilege for Opera Gallery New York to showcase the works of this influential artist.
