Introducing
‘Introducing’ is about first encounters. Conceived as an annual exhibition at Opera Gallery Geneva, it brings together artists from around the world whose distinct practices invite new perspectives and discoveries. For its first edition, the exhibition presents the work of Hadassah Emmerich, Zoey Frank, Louis Granet, Alina Grasmann, Edyta Hul, Magdalena Karpińska, Patrick Puckett and Ilana Zweschi.
Nature and Abstraction
Many of the artists in ‘Introducing’ begin with the visible world, transforming landscapes, gardens, plants and flowers through colour, composition and abstraction. Louis Granet turns expanses of vegetation into vibrant fields of colour and rhythm, while Edyta Hul creates layered compositions that appear to grow across the surface. Magdalena Karpińska gives botanical forms a dreamlike presence, and Ilana Zweschi combines botanical imagery with repeated abstract marks generated through her own system of rules.
Figures and Spaces
Other practices explore more intimate environments and the figures within them. Alina Grasmann examines interiors, reflections and the shifting relationship between inside and outside, while Patrick Puckett places his figures within vivid, heightened environments. Zoey Frank reconstructs familiar places and situations through overlapping planes, shifting perspectives and changes in perception. Moving between these territories, Hadassah Emmerich brings together saturated colour, botanical forms and the human figure in compositions that move fluidly between figuration and abstraction.
New Encounters
Rather than proposing a single theme, ‘Introducing’ brings these diverse practices into conversation, allowing affinities and unexpected connections to emerge. The exhibition reflects Opera Gallery’s commitment to remaining curious, looking beyond the familiar and introducing new artistic voices to its audiences. This first edition establishes ‘Introducing’ as a space for discovery, dialogue and new artistic encounters.
