Born in Montreal (1965), André Monet studied graphic design at Laval University while exploring other mediums in fine arts. He worked in fashion, illustration and advertising before fully dedicating himself to art. André has explored various media such as mosaic, collage and acrylics and more recently, he decided to work primarily on portrait – but not just any kind of portrait. Blending collages of old newspapers and books, painting and varnishing, the features of his subjects are recreated with such precision that one might surprisingly see a realistic photography arising from a distance. This new production reveals the strengths and weaknesses of individuals appearing on the canvases. Inspired by cinema, photography, music and literature, Monet has a natural connection and sense for   the current society and his contemporaries. His signature conceptual assemblage of text texture and color exudes eccentricity and empowerment of its time, exemplifying the characters and personalities of its most popular icons. With much success in recent years, André’s work has repeatedly been exhibited in galleries and art fairs in Paris, London, New York, Seoul, Singapore, Miami, Toronto, Montreal, Dubai and Hong Kong, and he has won several awards for his contribution to the creative industries. #AndréMonetxETERNITY
