LE BAUBE Guy
Guy Le Baube was born in France in 1944. An award winning photographer and commercial director, Le Baube moved to New York in 1976.
Highly esteemed for his editorial work in world-renowned fashion magazines and advertising campaigns, Le Baube’s photography has been seen in Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Elle, Marie-Claire.
In the early 90’s Le Baube transcended the commercial realm with a collection of photographs that won critical acclaim. Glamorous, sexy, and erotic, Le Baube’s work is bold and surprising. His nude portraits are allegorical tales punctuated by a witty, tongue-in-cheek humor.
“Guy Le Baube's photographs reveal a sensibility that lies between the sexiness of H. Newton and the playfulness of J-H Lartigue. His vision ranges from a world seen through the eyes of Federico Fellini to the expression seen through the eye of his childhood innocence.” says art critic Alexandre Geoffroy d'Assy.
The Opera Gallery is pleased to introduce its first exhibition of photography with this phenomenal and secretive work. “This exhibition is groundbreaking” says Opera Gallery Director Eric Allouche. “We are excited to include such an important voice in Photography to our gallery.”
Le Baube’s latest collection displays the adept skills of a master photographer and creative narrator of intimate life; thrilling, beautiful, touching and playful.
