GILINSKI Karen Starosta
After living in Venezuela for most of her life, Karen decided to move to the US when she was 18 in order to continue her education in a politically stable country. She moved to Miami and graduated from Ai Miami International University with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design in 2004. Though it was difficult to leave her family behind, Karen believes that it has only helped her career as an artist. In understanding the strong feelings of loneliness and lack of identity that come with living on your own in a new country Karen was able to develop as an artist and gain the confidence she needed to celebrate life and happiness which she portrays in her artwork.
