DARDEK Dominique

This self-taught artist, Dominique Dardek, was born on 14 July 1957 in Laval, and was first interested in painting.
But towards 1980, attracted by the sensuality of volume, he moved on to creating sculptures.

Since 1984, he has exhibited his work in the west of France, and has received prizes such as the first place at the Bauge Festival in 1984, 86, 88, and the “Medaille d’Honneur” in 1986 followed by an honorary prize in 1988 at the Le Mans Salon.

His work is exhibited in Angers, Rennes and La Baule.

In 1991, Dardek was selected to present his work at the Young Creators’Stand at the “Moving” exhibition and at the Design Connection Salon.

He runs the Laval Municipal Sculpture Group, and aside from his sculpting, he also undertakes design projects involving furniture, lighting and tableware.

He says of “Pate de Verre” that is:”Brings an additional dimension to his work, accentuating the dynamism and the volatility of the piece by its “translucidity”. The transparency of Pate de verre extends the work beyond its own boundaries.

Dominique Dardek is fond of portraying the suppleness and balance of movement in effort.
In the “Acrobatic Woman”, he has sculpted with exactness the aestheticism and the eurythmics of a female body
