BRASILIER Andre
Born in Anjou in 1929 from a family of painters, he starts painting from his very childhood. First prize in Rome at the age 23, he quickly makes a start in the parisian artistic life. He takes part in many exhibitions and art fairs in France and abroad. As Bernard de Montgolfier puts it, although he paints out of the reality, he is not a realist : “It is the very personal way of BRASILIER to be non-figurative inside figuration.” Lyrical charm, vivid colours, harmonious daring of his simplifying visions, but at the same time fleeting, evocative and sublimated, made his reknown exceeds the borders of a country whose grace he is the one to transfigure.
His pictural, ceramic and engraved works are joously spreading in Europe, USA, Canada and Japan where his shows are great successes.
“by transfiguring life, I would like to build a plastic work that helps to see and to dream.” Andre Brasilier
