BANKSY
Banksy (a pseudonym) is a graffiti artist from England.
His works are satirical pieces on topics such as politics, culture and ethics. His street art is a combination of both graffiti and stenciling, and appears in cities all around the world. Banksy's true identity is remains unknown.
His works are viewed by some as vandalism while others see it as providing a voice to people living in the urban environment. He has placed subverted pieces of his own in museums such as The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, London's Tate gallery, The Museum of Natural History, the Brooklyn Museum and the Louvre.
Banksy's work has recently become popular among auction houses and contemporary art galleries around the world, he has self published several books and continues to create unique and controversial pieces.
