Lita Cabellut

Cabellut fame of museum and artist.
Lita lived her gypsy-childhood in Barcelona. At the age of 13, after a crucial visit at the Prado Museum wherein she was inspired by the old Spanish and Dutch Court master artists, Lita decided to become an artist. To this end she started to take classical paint technique classes four times each week taught by an established master painter. Four years later Lita's work was on exhibit at the Town Hall museum of Masnou, Barcelona. At the age of 19 she decided to leave her native country of Spain for new challenges in the Netherlands.
The artist has been exhibited throughout museums in the United States and Europe
Between 1982-1984 the artist studied at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. As early as the year 1988 Lita was well-established enough to earn a living solely from her artistic endeavors.
Lita Cabellut is considered to be an artist with a unique pictorial language, using a contemporary variation on the fresco-technique and her own personalized 'Cabellut-palette'. Her work has been exhibited throughout museums the United States and Europe, and has been the subject of much critical acclamation.
